National Night Out returns to McKinney neighborhoods October 6

McKinney’s National Night Out is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2026, with neighborhood gatherings intended to connect residents with police and with one another.

The Police Department directs residents to their neighborhood crime watch captain for local event information. That matters because the city’s notice does not provide one central gathering location or a citywide start time.

Registration is already closed, according to the official event page. Residents should check with their neighborhood organizer about an existing gathering rather than assume they can still register a new one.

For neighborhoods without a crime watch captain, the department lists its Crime Prevention and Education unit as the starting point. The program contact number is 972-547-2844.

Check the city’s event page before making plans, and confirm the location and timing directly with the neighborhood organizer.
